Welcome To Calming Influences
Calming Influences is a complementary therapy school, offering short holistic courses to therapists. We offer CPD courses to reflexologists, massage therapists and aromatherapists, and always aim to provide the best possible experience for our students, whatever their therapy or background.
Calming Influences is 22 years old. We originally offered reflexology training, before expanding to include Indian head massage, body massage and aromatherapy. Offering courses where therapists are starting their journey has been very rewarding but now we are evolving again, and concentrating on our short courses, both face to face and online.
The way we deliver courses has also changed. Initially we did everything face to face, but now our courses are blended. Providing an online learning platform which allows students to prepare for their courses, complete any workbooks they need to and video clips allow them to finess their practical techniques. Being able to re-play sessions has definate benefits for students. We also make extensive use of live Zoom sessions.
Over the last 22 years we have built up an extensive knowlege and materials base which has been incorportated in our new student learning platform. We are making this available to other schools, who are interested in changing the way they deliver courses and to new teachers who are taking their first steps into running their own school. We are based in Bursledon, Southampton, just 5 minutes from junction 8 of the M27 but we attract students from around the country, both in person and on-line.

(I look a little different now - see my photo below!). Above right you can see the GreenHouse room which is where our main teaching sessions are carried out.
